Hose from head to carb

Hello all. I picked up a 1998 vmax 700 xtc deluxe a few weeks ago, and I noticed a hose that goes from the left/driver side of the head to a petcock then to the carbs. Just curious as to what it is. I haven't been able to find a picture of another 700 with this going on. Thanks.

Heated carbs...seems like all 98s and newer should have it. The twins and triples have the pet cock and the SRX has a knob on the end of the water rail. I leave mine on 100% of the time. Designed to stop carbs from icing up during cool and damp operation.
