It's fun that's for sure! Just picked her up last week.
Seller wanted 600, I pointed out it's issues and brought her home for 200$!
No one got ripped off. The seller was unaware of several flaws and was happy
With the 200. That said, I cleaned the snot out of the mikuni, grounds, and electrical
Connectors. Gave her a good once over and she fired first pull!
Cold compression is even at 125 each side.
The belly pan is junk and the "frame rails?" (Steel front frame under motor)
Will need a bit of patching. Not horrible.
For now I rivited in a Rubbermaid trash can belly pan just so I could
Try it out. It actually looks pretty good haha!
Seeing as I've gotten it really cheap I'm going to mod the suspension.
Or lack of suspension I should say! The skid was frozen and the shocks are
Blown. A can of penetrating oil later and it's moving! Track tread is good and it's
Soft but plenty of small cracks. For now I'll just blast around the yard
But come summer I'm going to try and lighten it up as much as I can.
A few questions for the more knowledgable:
Led lights? Any issues that would screw up the electrical system??
I think I can lose about 4 lbs doing this.
See I'd like to keep the reliability up and the weight down. I'll be making
It as light as I can without spending. The motor will stay stock, maybe I'll
Clean up the intake down the road? But for now. Diet and suspension.
Maybe a later model skid would free up some lbs and gain me some travel?
I'll try to learn how to post pics and add some soon, right now she's stuck
In the back yard in 3 feet of soft snow! So my first lesson learned is don't stop
While your going up a hill in soft deep powder.
Sorry for the long post. I'm excited!
Thanks for the forum and any suggestions!

Hey bud. Im not new to sleds but im new to vintage and i just picked up a sweet little ET 340 1981. Needed àn engine overhaul but other than that its mint. First ride this weekend and im in love. Its a little rocket with charm. Needs a suspension upgrade though. Let me know what your doing and ill keep you posted here too.

enticer II/phazer II skid would be a large improvement on there as well as they have a lot more travel.
