Sx triple. Start and warm it up. Will run 1-2 full throttle 0-80 runs. The n it will hit 50ish and around 7000 rpm and fall flat, barely accelerate. Now I've made probably 100 or so passes like this the last few weeks with no Problems. I tried 3 different belts;no diff. Temp was warmer though at 39F. Any ideas.? Jetted too rich?

I tried leaner jetting. Does the same thing. One good full throttle run. Then the second run will bog at 60mph, then progressively worse. Let it cool off and it will repeat the process. I don't get it. I also disconnected the Tors and no difference.

Could be possible stator is getting weak. I don't have a lot of experience with stators but everything I seem to read says when they are going bad they have less power when they warm up.

Ran out of snow here so it sucks to put this sled away not running right. Ill swap the stator out anyway since I have a parts sled. I have a question on stator compatibility. Will the stator of a 99 Vmax 600 triple with electric start and reverse work on a 97 700sx triple vmax without ES or rev.?

My 97 had same problem when stator was going. And sometimes it would be a.BI*** to start warm

YES...so long as they are both single bulb headlight. 97 Should have E start wires in harness and reverse is in chaincase only....nothing to due with engine/electronics. Cases, crank, stator, flywheel and recoil all the same between 99 triple 600 and 97 triple 700. Red heads went to dual bulbs in different years but as far as I know 01 was first year.

Excellent info. Just what I was looking for. Thanks

Clarify for any one else reading this down the road. The 97 uses a slightly different crank bearing than 98 and newer but this doesn't factor into stator/flywheel.
