Sorry for double post.. didn't mean to post in General.
When I start up my 01 SXR700 and first drive it out of my shed, I THINK I smell a hint of coolant in the exhaust. I usually let it warm up between 5-10 minutes before driving it out. When the engine revs high to clear the bump (5000 rpm maybe) is when I THINK I smell the sweetness in the exhaust. I can never smell it afterwards when its warmed up.
The coolant level in the tank has never gotten below about an inch above the LOW line. I actually added some coolant to FULL yesterday (because it was an inch above LOW) and now its over the full line. I don't see any signs of coolant in the snow or around the engine.
Anyone experience this during cold startup? 3000 miles BTW
Thanks.

There is probably a nick in the h/g. When it's cold, it is just enough for coolant to get into the combustion chamber. After all is warmed up, the heat expands and swells the nick enough so that it doesn't leak. Just an edu guess.
