So I had the mag side crank bearings go in my 700sx vmax it's a 97. I'm aware that these bearings have an oiling problem. Is there a way I can get more oil to them bearings? I was thinking about running another oil line to that cylinder. Or drilling the hole out better on the top. Is there a different oil pump option for this sled? I don't want to spend the money and use the updated 98 bearing because I can't find one cheap. Also I think this motor has been into before for some reason there was G85 engraved in the side of the block. I don't know if that means anything. I just want to ask if there are any options to better oil the mag cylinder because it seems like that cylinder on these sleds doesn't get much oil. Or do you guys think I should just pay the money for the better bearing? Sled has 7k miles.
I would just go to the updated bearing.

x2. seems like going the cheap route ends up costing more in the long run.

for the new bearing I only have to drill out a spot for the bearing pin? or do I have to do anything else? ive looked at some other threads and it wasn't very clear. Yamaha part number?

I have a few other questions. The cylinder that I picked up from the junkyard happened to have a mild port job done to it. Just basically a polish but the jug skirt is cut down and it has the relief in it for the aux port. It also has the intake ports cut down a little and polished. The ports in the acual cylinder weren't messed with. So I'm going to match the other cylinders so it is all equal. Do you guys think I will have to change the settings? I still have single pipe. I just don't want to change the main jets because someone stripped the Philips screw on the throttle shaft for my carbs. I was also wondering if I have to do the head gasket mod to gain my vacuum back or whatever from porting.
