well riding is now over.My SRX ran well this winter. On my last ride last weekend I checked my compression.Ended up with 121-119-120 numbers.Since I did a top end rebuild in 2010 and have some 4800 miles added since then, should I re-ring the beast just because.I have the rings here and a new base gasket and o-ring gaskets (all oem) .I originally used a aftermarket base gasket, but if I re do the rings I want to put the OEM gasket back in..
Going to rebuild the clutch`s as well with new bushings this off season,go thru all bearings..etc.

Just curious, Is there a reason you want to use the oem gaskets? I noticed the aftermarket base gasket was different than the one that was on mine and it did make me think. It seemed a little thicker than the one that was on it. After all the research I have done it seems like its not a bad idea to change the rings just to be safe. I changed mine last year at 4500 miles. I would say with all the posts you have you probably read all the posts I have about it.lol

I am thinking since I used a thicker aftermarket base gasket,my compression would have been a little less.Probably will just re ring it for next season anyways.Sled still has great pull to it, still which feels nice.My gas mileage last time out without pinning it to many times was near the 14mpg..so can't complain. If I pin it all day and I would see something like 10 -11 mpg.
