While my friends 700 was down for a chassis swap he took out his 600 triple. I never saw this sled before and knew nothing about it. When we unloaded it off the trailer it was leaking at manifold donut. He tried to buy a new one in Wisconsin. Local shop did not have. He ran the sled like he stole it. Second day after a 60 mile ride and a hard last 7 miles when we stopped for fuel it was missing. We pulled the middle wire and had no change. Popped in a new plug and no change. It acted like my 700 when my son burnt a piston. We left it at the gas station and drug it home. Tonight we took a compression test and 85 across the board. As much as it is low they are all the same. We started it up and remembered the exhaust leak. He had just picked up a new donut. Went to install the new gasket and pipe does not fit. After comparing it to my 700 we see the pipe is bent in three places. No damage to the sled. We stopped working on it tonight till we get new mid pipe installed. I am all for a rering job but could the pipe cause the miss or maybe a reed. I know nothing about them. . I ran compression on my 700 also tonight and it it is 88 96 88 so it is getting rings also along a carb clean. You guys are great

I suspect the gauge is part of the low numbers. Compression doesn't always tell the whole story. My GF's 00 SxR had a mild burn down on center cylinder due to carb issue. Was only down by 3lbs compression but held ZERO in a leak down test. When you were working on the exhaust did you look inside the pipe for foreign material? Maybe pull the manifold and get a look at the front of the pistons. Keep us posted as things develop.
