OK so I have an 01 that needs a new bottom end. Has 6500 miles - totally stock - new top end last year, its in great shape. Just needs bottom.
I just bought the complete bottom end and it needs to be installed along with one jug, head and piston that I have.
But I was thinking to go all in on this sled finally - so I am looking for someone that can do the above work (I am nooo mechanic)
AND make some modifications to this sled - suspension, clutching, ETC. I have the money for it - sled will not be needed of course until
next season so it can be worked on over the summer. I am not sure what to do with the mods but I am willing to put $2K +/- into the sled.
I just want to deliver the sled - get a list of mods and start knocking them off and paying the bill.
Let me know what you think - who can do the work and what I should get done ! I want to make this sled into a great sled !
I am in MASS but can deliver to NH, ME, etc. Sled is currently in NH.
Thank you.

Hello, what is wrong with the engine's bottom end? bad seals? bad bearings? What modifications are you plannning? My two cents: leave the engine stock to retain the reliability. If you lived close enough to me, i would gladly work on yur sled for free. I enjoy working on sleds and bikes as much as riding them and have a complete shop.

A good port job and spot on clutching with the right suspension adjustments and your srx will fly with the reliability of stock

He has a few posts about this sled, if memory serves the crank let loose and FUBARed the crank and cases.
