Just finished rebuilding an ovation 340, new crank seals, two new Pistons and rings and top end gaskets, Becasue it melted a hole in the mag side piston and I believe it was Becasue of the crank seal

after a heat cycle on the stand I took it around the field a couple times just taking it easy, let it cool and did that 2 more times. then went out for a little ride down the trails taking it easy but getting on the throttle more and more as the ride went on. Near the end hitting 1/2 to 3/4 throttle a little bit hear and there..
It seems to run good, how do you guys think the plugs look? This was in about -4 weather

The greyer one is the mag side. Also These are used plugs, but not the plugs it blew up with the mag side seems a bit grey to me compared to the pto

Top plug has good burn in for a trail plug, the bottom one is a little rich but it's safe all the way around. May be rich on a warm spring ride but great for the winter by the looks of it.

Alright thanks! I thought they looked alright, hope it doesn't run to much leaner in -15 or -20. Is it normal to have on a bit greyer than the other? It seems a bit leaner on the side that burned down, I just don't want it to happen again

That "grey" color concerns me but you said they were old plugs. Toss a couple new plugs in and test again. "Grey" leads me to think piston material deposited onto plugs...

It was driven probly for over an hour today, running really good and plugs still look good. I don't think it will get ridden anymore this season. I'll put new plugs in next season and see how they look. Thanks guys
