I am installing a Bender can on my SRX. I am wondering when the silencer was purchased new from Bender, did it come with springs and mounting tabs to secure it in the machine. I purchased a used can and I see two mounting hooks on it, but I see no where to secure it and no springs to use. Thanks

Anyone?? I know it's probably been awhile since anyone purchased one of these.

It uses the stock springs and rubber dampers

My can has all the rubber dampers attached and sits nicely in place. Are the stock springs that you are talking about the ones that retain the stock silencer? If so, one is really long and wraps around the stock silencer and the other secures the inside of the stocker to the frame. Actually, the second spring is the same as the springs that hold the pipes to the short outlet pipes off the cylinders. Are these the springs that you are referencing? If so, I don't think that they will work.

I never had the can mounted so I can't even give you any tips on how to do it. I would think that the six springs that hold the ends together plus a couple of the other type on the cylinder ends would suffice.

I just came back from a test run. Everything seems to be OK with the exhaust. I have the one spring mounted on one of the bottom tabs on the can along with the six springs from the pipes to the can and the six springs from the pipes to the cylinders. I also have all the retaining springs that keep the pipes in place. Nice sound! I like it. I just have to weld up the reverse linkage tab off the chaincase that I had to modify to offset the pipes from the can. I had it bolted but it needs to be welded as it loosened on my first run. It also was the first test run on the 136 mono that I just finished installing. Night and day difference in ride quality!

Sounds like you have it mounted just fine. I just used an extra spring to hold it down to the frame. Mine had a small hole pre-drilled so I was able to hook to that. They do sound nice. I had the stock on for one ride and had to go back.

Ok, thanks for the info guys. I think it's secured the best way that I can get it.
