what is the compression after you peel one layer on a 700 red head? and also after peeling two layers?
why does it recommend only peeling one layer with triple pipes?
i have a drag race on Saturday April 4.
500 feet.
i have some vp racing fuel C12.
will my redhead be okay if i peel two layers and when i and some C12 to 91 octane gas?
i have been told to mix it 50/50, C12/91 octane.
will this work out.
mods to my sled
P.S.I stock blaster pipes.
vforce reeds.
ported airbox.
heel clicker clutch. redspring
dalton helix 51/43. green spring. 80 degree
winter is almost over. 1 more month to go on the lake.
i'll be rebuilding the engine this summer.

My 700 redhead pulls in the 145 range on all 3 jugs cold. Pulled in the 125 range hot when I fouled a plug and needed to checked compression just to be sure.
From what I've picked up here and there 140's seems to be the high range for a stock head gasket. I put up a picture of the gasket rivets in the sled and it appears to be stock was the concensus. The one thing I know, when I first pull the sled over cold I gently bump is through tdc on each jug. It feels stiff enough I could damage something in the starter otherwise.

IMO, you won't have time to test and setup after pulling head.
You will see more gain in jetting for that day, go a tad lean and burp the throttle alot after 500'.
Work on your setup for 60'. When you pull someone by a sled at 60', it takes real good hp to pull even and pass you

50/50 mix of C12 and 91 octane will give me 99.5 octane
is this too high octane, for one layer gasket?
99.5 Octane
( [ % Fuel A ] x [ Octane of Fuel A ] ) + ( [ % Fuel B ] x [ Octane of Fuel B ] ) = Octane of Mixture

I always just run 91 with my 700s that have the single layer mod.
