Has anyone ever fabricated an adjustable ignition timing set up for an 02 SRX ? I'm just trying to get everything as easily adjustable as possible so when I get on a dyno I waste as little time as possible . I'm Thinking about machining a window in the case to access a micrometer style adjuster plate . Any thoughts ?????

Other than an offset key for the flywheel to change the timing I don't believe there's any other way to do it.

Timing would have to adjusted with a stand alone CDI to change the trigger to fire time and cause a degree shift.
Only product I have heard of is Boondocker makes an ignition retarder that's adjustable. It's meant to pull out timing on a boosted sled but they said drag racers like to use it because they can run and offset key but retard the timing at low rpm.

Now I have to go home and look at things ....... Is the crank trigger not external to the mag on an 02?

I was thinking along the lines of mounting the trigger on a movable plate similar to an old Mallory distributor for a V8

Yes something like that is what I had in mind . I Also wondered about using the adjustment to take out some initial out of an SRX and be able to use a viper CDI with a little tamer total timing number . I like the idea of marking certain timing settings for different applications.
