The question is simple, can you try a Mountainmax clutch without the starter ring on a viper with e.start or will the clutch offset be off?
I know there are different specs for that, is the difference just the thickness of the starter ring or not?
The reason I am asking is because a friend wants to try out my MM heelclicker set up on his longtracked viper.
thanks

It'll be fine, the offset is measured from the back of the stationary sheave itself,so the starter ring won't have any affect. I know when I put the engine in my buds Viper ER a couple years ago I had to use the clutch off my SRX to set the offset. My alignment bar doesn't allow for a primary with a starter ring gear, and to my knowledge there isn't one that does.

X2 - you can run the clutch without the gear. "Of course the electric start won't work" (Mr. Obvious)
