Hello and thank u for takeing the time to read this i got my self my first sled from dealer payed 2500 for it but i dont think i am off to a good start with this sled what happend at the dealer ship.They fouled the spark plugs when i asked to see it run in gear front and reverse so they could not get it to start after new plugs ran great so it all went good but i am still geting really hard starts. With this sled like i need to let it warm up for about 5 mins or it will stall out and then need to be fired back up and once warm its ok to go and wont die or stall. But at 5 grand the track moves in reverse so does this all sound right or is there a way i can fix my hard starting on my sled thank u alec.
 
I'm not the most experienced guy here by a long shot but Either way you should start by cleaning the carbs. It sounds like a possibility. There's a writeup in the tech section.
 
o ok thats what i was thinking i just did not no if i got a bad sled from dealer ship or not once warm she runs great just geting it to that point is a pain i noticed i will pull them apart in the morning give them a good cleaning thank you
 
I would start with the carbs, make sure everything is super clean. How old is the fuel in the tank? Bad spark plug caps can also cause the plugs to foul. I had an sxr last year that fouled plugs until I changed the plug caps, then it ran fine. Caps are cheap, I got NGK caps from Fleet farm for about $5 each.
 
Clean your carbs first. The triples need to warm up before riding or the run poorly. Mine never stalled per say but if i tried to go before letting the engine warm up it ran horrid. Once the engine was warm good to go. Is it hard to start warm or cold? I know for the vipers and srx's when warm you needed to hold it at 1/8th throttle to get it to start first pull when warm. Also depending on the mileage change the fuel filter in the tank when you clean the carbs. If the gas was stale and had any ethanol in it the glue and paper on the filter may have started to degrade which could lead to a plugged jet in the future.
 
ok guys found out what it was all i needed to do was turn the idle screw not a lot and runs fine now but 2 things left need to understand / no so my track will start to spin at 5000 rpms on a wooden pallet floor i no its not good for it but just need to move it a bit is that normal and last thing i no its a 2 stroke but dam it smokes out the shop really good haha once u get on it is that normal i ask these things because i am a atv guy then one day i said i want a sled and now here i am lol
 
5000 rpm sounds right for clutch engagment. I think you are good there. As far as the smoke issue goes, because you were fouling plugs and only really idling for the most most part (I assume the dealer really only ran it a small bit as well) the pipes are probably saturated with oil inside. Once the snow flies and you are able to put a few miles on it the smoke should subside. The excess oil will burn off once the pipe gets good and hot. Just for reference, you may have to adjust your idle screw back to or close to where it was once the weather gets near riding temps.
 
Well good and bad news it started to do it again so i said F this called the dealer they said bring it in there master tech checked it out its only been runing on 2 cylinders so there pulling it apart and fixing it free. He checked for spark it has it and has good compression but no gas geting to it so this is the big thing that i need to ask so does that mean that cylinder is junk now because. Its a 2 stroke and the oil is in the gas and there is no gas in the cylinder so it would be bad??. Dont no but its all geting fixed free and he said he will check out why rpms need to be so high to start moveing so it all works out in the end lol.
