1999 Srx 700 Adjustable transfer rods

Im puttining in a new track on my 99Srx700 and when i bought the sled it came with a spare skid. The spare has adjustable transfer rods. Im not sure if either skids are original but both visually seem the same except how the transfer rods are attached. The skid that i have been using has the shorter rods mounted with a rod between the rails and an extra hole behind the mounting point. This hole lines up exactly the same as the other skid with the adj transfer rods. The adj rods are like 2" longer about. The holes seem identical. Did yamaha ever make adj rods or are these aftermarket? Should i even bother swapping then over?

Im currently installing a 1.25 Ripsaw and we will see if it fits

As far as I know they look aftermarket. Maybe someone else on here has them on there sled and can measure there's for you. The other skid with the blue transfer rods might be from a different year. As long as its straight you should be able to mount that one in. While its out I would check the bushings and shocks.

If they're adjustable, they're aftermarket. The Yamaha rods are adjusted by changing/moving the white shims.

Does anyone see any issue with using the adjustable rods from the picture #1 and use the skid in picture 2 with the rear holes?
the skid in picture #1 came with the sled as a spare and has a mangled rail- possibly this is the original skid.

I didn't read everything to see what's what but as long as you use the right holes for whichever rods you're all set. ie: long rods rear holes or short rods front holes. Those adjustable rods look like benders by the way

this post is exactly what i was looking for- thanks so much.

The 1.25 track looks very close to the front heat exchanger protector- ive searched and they said the 1.25 will fit the 99 but now I am unsure what year the skid is. Im not sure what gives the 98-99 the extra clearance to run the 1.25 track vs the newer models. Would I be better off notching the track to fit the one front heat exchanger protector?
 
I've only owned 2000 up srx's. But the skid won't effect the track clearance. The only thing that matters there is the distance between the drive shaft and protectors. I don't believe there were any differences there between the two. From my experience you either need to notch the track or remove the protectors if not running studs
