2003 yamaha sx viper review and problems

Alright guys I'm going to look at a 2003 viper on saturday, what do you guys have to say about the sled?

It has

11000km
Ad bovin rear suspension
Boss rise seat
Rise bars

Snow stuff exhaust can
Studded rip saw track
dual carbides
Very clean sled
Greased and ready to hit the trails

Pros and cons of the sled?
 
Bars, seat, and suspension are very good (and expensive) mods. Nobody here can tell you how the sled was driven or how it was maintained but just pay attention to common wear items like bearings,slides,and bushings. As for the viper itself some members with one should chime in.
 
gotta lot of nice stuff on it for sure, if its in great shape then its a worthwile sled to buy. They handle well and have pretty good power stock. A heel clicker clutch kit puts max power to the ground and usually is plenty quick enough for even the newer sleds.
One thing youll need to do when you get it home is to take off the carbs and raise the needles in them, so you dont have a problem burning it down on the center or mag cylinders.

one other thing you could ask is if the wiring harness was ever redone under the engine, they ALL will rub thru and eventually short out wires and make things all goofy. It involves pulling the harness and taping it up repair rubbed/chaffed wires and then putting it in black convolute tubing and reinstalling it, once done, never will have another problem as long as you own the sled.
 
x2^^ This viper sounds if it has all the goodies on it and ready to ride. Make sure you do the needles as mr viper said and it will last a long time. Love mine and they cont to run strong.
 
I have a Viper with a expert X suspension it's nice but the parts are very expensive make sure that it is in good condition.

Can you please explain a little more about raising the needles?
 
Haven't noticed either way. Haven't really paid attention. Sorry.
