I don't get it, one washer goes behind the thrust bearing? What's the point of that?

The washer goes between the thrust bearing and spring.

Yes, but it says two washers? One on each side of the thrust bearing. There are not two washers in the kit as far as I know?
Another thing, grease the thrust bearing? Shall I open it up, grease it and the put the seal back on?

Just put the one washer on the spring side and then lightly grease it so it dont rust or corrode the bearings or cages. It dont need to be packed.

I got it in place. Another question: when rebuilding KYB gas shocks, do they ever need to remove the brass fitting? I might have filed that too much, so it will be hard to get off.

Yes I think they have to take that off to release the gas.

I looked at that again, shouldn't be much of aproblem to get it off. Only one of the edges is rounded.

I looked at it again, the adjuster is huge. I wonder whether it will rub the track when I put the shock back in. It's the rear-most shock.

How much bugger then the spring?

Thanks for the input. It's a wonder why more people haven't installed these. You can actually turn them by hand, I tried it. Changing pre-load with a screwdriver and hammer is a pain on the pro action, because the relay rods come in the way, if you use a spanner. You can, but it will take some time.

I know, I had them on all my sleds years back but now they are really hard to find.
