01 SRX runs GREAT up to 6000 rpm and thats it ????

Not to get long winded with this so I will try and get to the point.
I got this one owner 01 SRX last year and ran perfect till the last
ride of the year and it will get to about 6 grand and not really bog
but thats it. I cleaned the carbs and power valves,checked the servo
started with new plugs, checked the fuel pump, clutches seem fine,
comp is good on all 3 cylinders.It starts and seems to idle and run fine
but still will only rev to about 6 grand.Is it possible to be electrical
or in the clutching that Im not finding. I should mention that the plugs
are not real wet but black and not a real clean burn that makes me think
fuel issue and that why I checked the pump and it is not leaking through
like a bad diaphragm. SORRY for being so long but this has me at my BREAK
point ???

Thanks for showing me that link and I do remember reading that a while back
and I do have a fluke so Im going to do some testing. I know when this happened
it was over night. Ran great the night before and parked in a heated garage and the
next day "SHIT" I just figured the coil or stator either works or not but to give week
spark is what is strange to me. THANKS AGAIN

Any more Ideas ????
 
Yea cause thats what I thought and pulled them out and actually
not bad but cleaned and put back in. It ran the same so I took the
Servo cover off to see if they were moving and they are. THANKS
and if u think of something else let me know and I APPRECIATE it !!!!
 
Thats what I think it has to be. So the the best way to check that
is dig the pickup coil wires out and should read 2 volts with a good
pull ? The more I think of it is I say it runs good but the motor seems
week ???Starts up good, idles good but it seems off ?????

My 00 did this when I got it. It had 3 pull throughs.
Fixed that. Still ran the same. I'll skip all the fun I went through but in the end I had put the airbox foam under the top section on the airbox and putting the foam back on top fixed it. Probably not your problem but it was mine.
As usual this sight got me going.
 
Just so there's a end to this ????? The sled is running better than ever.
The thing that had me fooled was the stator was testing good. I replaced the
pickup coil and good as new. Theres more to it but thats what it was , the
Pick Up Pulsar Coil. THANKS to the guys that replied !!!!!
