Hey guys. I'm starting a aftermarket helix angle thread, that Mr Sled is going to sticky, for all of us clutch tuning members to reference. Instead of everyone posting, "what's the angle of this 9870 bender helix" or whatever, we can all just reference this page that Mr Sled will put in the tech pages, and then we all know the angle of a particular aftermarket helix. I'm going to post a few helix angles that I have in my notes, that I've accumulated on here over time. If anyone else has any angles of aftermarket helixs to add, please do so.

Hauck helix angles, provided by Madmatt:

D 51/43
G 49/41
I 47/41
V 51/45
B 54/44
L 45/39
N 45/39
K 45/41--measures 43/37
E 47/43
X 52/47
J 47 straight--measures 45

maxx perf:

6MS7= 48/42
MSR8= 52/40 (should say 7MSR8, cause it was out of a '98 srx 700 and that was the part# for a maxx SRX 700 clutch kit...the 6MSR8 is for the 600 SRX...don't know that angle.)

Hay Mopar, yes W is 56/50 and J is a straght 45......

thanks whammy for the confirmation. ;)! i thought that the hauck "j" helix was a straight 45. i knew it wasn't any steeper than a 47 or 48 for sure.

sj, can you post some pics of the helix? is it billet or cast?

also guys, my srx came w/a different helix on it then stock. it is cast, and has the #'s for spring location stamped in, instead of cast in, like on the OEM helixs. also, the ramps are machined instead of cast and it has 48/42 stamped on the inside, where the spring seats against the helix. i know its a 48/42, cause that's what's stamped on it, but i have no idea on the brand. anyone seen or heard anything like this before?
