Picked up a nice 02 Viper

Thanks for the info. I will start at 3.5. I sent an email to mcb to see what my options are. The only thing I saw on their website was the piston kits and not parts separately. The rings measure out the same as the oem rings but the rings I measured were both used. I definitely agree with proper warm up. Thanks again guys.

Different rings have different expansion rates depending on what their composition is. For shear peace of mind, stick with the rings that were made for your pistons. After all, this is a trail machine. And more importantly, the wife's.

I'm leaning toward getting new OEM pistons, rings, pins, and bearings just for the piece of mind. I was thinking about the opticool gasket but I already ordered a new OEM. I am going to put a srx rear exchanger on it though. I plan on keeping this sled for a long time so might as well do it right.

I've heard that using an SRX base gasket will also help with cooling.

Opticool is a good mod. I put one in and also added a rear exchanger when I piped my sled. Both excellent ideas for any viper. They don't like low snow in stock form.

You guys pretty much have me talked into the gasket. I did get rings from mcb so I will see how they do for this season. This viper is taking all the funds I wanted to use for my srx. Oh well, it will be worth it. Srx will probably just have to wait another year.

Got the m10 ready to install. Before and after pics. I had a side view of the before but my 4 year old was on my phone and I think she erased some pics.lol IMG_20150908_180822487[1].jpgIMG_20151002_191413783[1].jpg
