Can someone post a pic of their battery mount on a Vmax? I'm curious where the radiator hose mounts now that I've added a battery to a previously pull start Vmax.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I don't have Sled with me but I'm a little confused. Should not have changed anything with coolant line when you added battery. Did u mount battery tray to chain case? Maybe a pic to refresh my memory?

Yes, the battery holder was already there and had the coolant hose clamp attached to one corner of it. The coolant hose positioning was fine until I put that big arse battery in there and now that hose clip is far too low. Looking at the parts diagram I don't see a change in part number for the clamp after installing the optional battery, so not sure how that short clamp is supposed to do it's intended job anymore. I'll send a pic when I get home tonight.

My hose holder doesn't have the bend yours does. It totally straight and mounted the bottom bolt of the battery holder.

Never seen it mounted at battery holder. If your bracket is different can you find another spot to mount it? If you still need more info I'll look at the 98 we got this weekend for ya.
That would be great. I thought it mounted to the chain cover at first, but the bolt on that is too big for the slot in the hose holder.

I just looked and you have the same part # as I have here. It has to be mounted in the wrong location or your bracket has been cut down. I don't have any better pictures with me.

Your bracket should look like one in pic and same mount point. Good find on pic. Has yours been broken or cut down in past?
When you look at that 98, tell me where it's mounted. Doesn't surprise me that's it's mounted incorrectly, or possibly cut down. Someone did a few interesting workarounds on this sled. I bought a battery tie down strap for instance, but I have a place to secure it in front, and nothing in the back? WTH?
I found this picture online

Looking at that pic I can tell that mine is broken at the bolt just above the slot. Guess, I need to get a new one....more parts, more parts....

Is that behind the brake though? That would be a PITA!

The battery strap clips to the chain case cover "?the back". Look for a little lip. I can see it in the pic above right next to e brake.

Found it, but holy crap that new strap is tight. Not sure how I'll get that on....but I'll work on it.

The pic above is a good one. I did take some for you, it bolts to the tab that the pull start rope goes through. Now on the 98 it is routed behind chaincase but on my vipers that tab is used to route pull rope through. So yours will have it.
