wire routing on cpr pipe?

snow is firm now so maybe the dam airbox wont get snow on it and freeze up so pipes are on again, to much work to swap out again so there staying on .Installing my pipes again and noticed the wiring on the hood about 1/4 to half way up is got the tape melted already and the pipes were only on for about an hours use last time,are the wires suppose to be relocated or is that where they are suppose to be?nothing worse than melting stuff

SLP uses what they call a 'wire loom support rod', some insulated tape and a couple of wire ties. I'm sure you can cut and use a thin coat hanger with the same effect on your CPR's. The description is step 5 and the picture is on page 4...

You should be able to get some reflective heat tape at a hardware or autoparts store.

i have cpr's on my sxr and my wires go right over the top of that upper (center) pipe as well. I just wrapped my wires up good with electrical tape first, and then heat tape, and now they dont melt to the pipe anymore.

I had that happen on my 02 Viper with Bender triples. They supply a little insulation and some teflon wrapping coils, but it doesn't work well enough - the pipes burned through the two mag-side exhaust valve cables despite the teflon wrap. I bought some insulating heat tape http://performanceunlimited.com/cobravalley_drivetrain/heattape.html and covered all the wiring and cables close to the pipes - no problem since.
