I Think Everyone Knows Most Polcats Can Pull Bigg End,mu Buddy Runs A Pol Cluych On His Sx, It Flys And Is Stock, Night And Day Diff, Im Thinkin It Must Be The Weights,i Put Pol Clutches On My Max 4 And It Pylled Like A Freight Train, Just Like Polaris The Clutches Were Worn Out After 5000 Miles And I Put The Old Yamy Back On, It Was Not The Same Sled, It Was Slow And Blew Belts, Went 3500 Miles On 1 Belt With The Polaris Clutches

I don't know, I guess i'm probably wrong, but the polaris weights are alot thicker out in the mid and tip. the hh's have a huge cheek at the heal, and the rest of the weight is alot thinner than a polaris. I don't know, it just seems like they don't pull as good up top. I seem to get belt slip at 110 on the speedo, in good conditions. Here's what I had please tell me what's wrong. CPR's pipes & clutching, megapower heads 125 psi, 700 w/porting (removed the 780), reed spacers mainly to add crankcase volume, 23-37 srx gears. Primary 155-300 with tip loaded 7/16 steel & thick washer, the rest empty. Secondary spring seems similar to the yami silver, Wrap 80-90, Tried stock 47, pioneer 49-43, pioneer 48-40. I have tried lower wrap and just slips sooner, more wrap and I get over rev up top and crappy shift curve(pulls down in midrange with added weight). I weigh 160. Before the clutch kit, with 8DN-20's I had 117-121mph, conditions not that great, no belt slip with 48-40 helix and wrap 70-80 green?. All i'm saying is I had the same secondary set-up, only thing diff was weights in primary, and hitters seemed to stop gripping, dn's pulled the sled. Seems like a staight 45 helix might GIT-ER-DONE. We are talking lake blasting, not 1000FT. I kill my buddies RX off the line, but I don't have enough up top he blows by me. Thats B.S. Iv'e got more power to weight, I should dog his as***, Thats why I refuse to change my gears, I should be able to get this to work!
P.S. I've probably got this thing so messed up it's unreal. So don't listen to me!

ive think your geared way to high, gear down and it will go faster, you dont have the power to pull that gearing, i once had a vmax 600 and it was geared a tooth higher than stock, i could only get 75 out of it,i geared down 2 gears and went 95mph, it just had not enough power to pull

Yea I thought of that, but an rx-1 is geared 24-38, and can pull all that weight, plus my horsepower should be higher. Even with those steep gears I pound him bad to about 100 mph. Besides I know the primary clutch is slipping cause it is very hot, with grey marks at about 1:1 ratio. Also it gets to about 110 on the speedo really quick then just stops. Which is probably only 100 mph real world speed. Those are stock gears for a 98 srx, should have no problems. I think the motor has so much power that the weights don't have enough tip force around 1:1 to hold it. I think if I put some weight in the middle and more spring in the secondary it would go higher, maybe just more secondary spring, but I have alot already. I have a haulk helix 45-39, looks like it comes into the lower finish angle alot sooner. Magic gave me a set-up to try out, using ABU-10's I'll keep you guys posted on what happens.

I don't run lakes, I ride mountains but this is what works for me. I am not saying to take this as gospel but it maybe worth a shot. 1st if the belt is slipping in the primary then you need to add more belt squeeze (obviously), but you are trying to do this by changing the secondary. If your belt is slipping in the secondary use a shallower helix &/or add more spring. Now for the primary slipping on the big end you need a higher finish rate spring and add more tip weight. I think lowering the gearing will only hide the problem and not properly fix it. You want to run the largest helix you can w/o slipping the belt in the secondary and as long as the motor will pull it. On another note I personally think your starting angles is not steep enough, even though you have a good holeshot. At the elevation I ride my motor is putting out maybe 100hp. I am running HH with largest set screw in heel and 7/16 with 2-heavy washer in middle hole and aluminum bolt in tip and 14.5 rollers. Maxx black spring 68/136. Secondary is 42 Heel-X with red spring. I am going to try a 46 and 50 heel-x with more secondary spring and less weight in the primary as well............SRXtreme
