I'm adding a 12v Cig Ligher Socket to my Son's 2001 SXR-700. Not for a cig lighter, but to run NAV, Charge phone battery, jump if needed, etc... Anyway, It has a battery/Electric Start and want to add the socket on the front flat panel area of the raise up hood. I will need to bundle a hot and ground from the socket to the front of the hood, and then back down left side, under engine, and up to battery. At least that's the plan following some existing wiring and tie wrapping. I have 18ga red & black wire, but would like to find a sheath/cover for the wiring to protect from abrasion, wear through, and heat.

Any suggestions for a 2-wire covering for about 8ft of wire that will protect it?

Thanks, Reb

Thanks carey, That split tubing should do the trick. I didn't know they made it in 3/8", that should be perfect. Wow, 100ft in that link. Anybody want to get in on a group buy? JK, I'll check Menards and some of the other big box hardware stores and see if they have that in shorter lengths.

Found 10ft of 3/8" split wire loom on Ebay. This should do it thanks again. Less than $4 shipped perfect.

Good find. I didn't realize the link I listed was for 100'. What I bought at radio Shack was only a couple of feet.
