How lean im i?

An infrared thermometer isn't going to help in jetting. Good for checking if you have a dead cylinder. Great for clutching too......................SRXtreme

They are a good tool to let you know the different temperatures of each cylinder and pipes. They'll give you an idea of what you might need to do. How fat or how lean the sled is running at whatever rpm your at on the stand.

This will only show you the surface temperature of the pipe. A far cry from the EGT. And it sure won't tell you what the piston crown looks like either. EGT's should only be used when the motor is jetted to what you feel is comfortable. It isn't a good practice to jet to achieve a specific EGT......................SRXtreme

I am in your area, have a 2000 M Max 700-piped. I am running 150's with 45 pilots. From what I recall! Needles I think are stock position. I will have to check my notes, but it seemed pretty close. Air box also is gutted.

Yes another tool that shouldn't be used to determine jetting. It is impossible to get any accuracy from them. The temperature fluctuates all over the surface of the pipe. If your going to do any jetting an EGT should be considered necessary tool.
