Kickback from pro-action?

The rear suspension on my venture 500 liquid is kicking back, giving the feeling that it is not coupled at all. The frontmost shock seems to be very soft, is this causing it?
Nothing seems to be broken and the limiter straps are there. Also, how do I get the front shock off? The nut is stuck bigtime, I could get the upper nut off, but not the lower.
 
That's why it's referred to as the NO-ACTION suspension. Takes a little bit to get it dialed in and even then it's not all that great most guys just do a skid swap.
Try some heat and if that doesn't work either cut the bolt or snap it off and knock it out with a ouch. They and be a pain some times.
 
What does the coupling rods have for white shims? If somebody removed or changed the spacers it might be letting it cycle through most of or all of the travel before coupling occurs. If the full rate adjuster is in the stiff position that might make it ride stiff and give the illusion of kickback.
 
I'll have to see when I get home. The ride feel like is you are towing something and it bounces against your hitchhook. I think the FRA is in the softest position and we were riding 2 up

Thew rear shock is supposedly just 2 years old. THe other I don't know.
 
This is resolved. Cranked the rear shock to the hardest setting (7), FRA in the middle and 2001 SRX center shock. Now it's a bit stiff riding alone, but it does not hit or kick back. The one that was in there was pretty much a 20 year old bicycle pump with a ball point pen spring.
