Came across a 1981 SRX440 that has been in a barn for 20+ years. The seat is dry cracked but it's a complete running sled. Has 140psi compression on both cylinders. The clutch is shot and the guy stripped the threads when he used the wrong puller so he put it up in his barn. Whats the value of something like this? I gave him $100 Here's a picture of it nice and dirty from sitting in the barn.

value is based off condition on these sleds, it is the last year srx440 Yamaha made and the 2nd highest hp output 440 engine. They were plauged with problems and a lot of them destroyed and traded in. I have 2 of them myself with one being mint condition and only 625 orig. miles on it. I have seen them sell for $500-$3500, it just all comes down to how nice it is when you clean it up and how much of the original parts are on it. Most of the engine stuff is starting to be deleted from Yamaha for them but the 83-87 vmax shares a bunch of parts for the chassis.

that looks like a good sled, very restorable. these are getting sought after, folklore says the ones ya find lived, many did not. they are still to this day the meanest looking sled on the snow. 3:16x (yammie tony)
