1998 Yamaha SRX 700 Oil in Carbs

Hi all, at the end of last season, I summerized my stock, great runnning SRX by fogging, cleaning, lubing, toping off fluids, etc.

My friend goes to get it running this year and is unable. He took apart the carbs and noticed they were full of oil.

I've had it a few years and never had problems or have heard of this before. Sled is stock and motor original with 4k miles.

Any ideas? I believe majority of the oil was Mystik full synthetic. Maybe too thin? Maybe oil pump?
 
It's the check valve in the oil line. I went through this myself on my sxr. Although the valve stops oil flow in the wrong direction, the spring pressure on the ball valve stops gravity feeding.... Which is what your experiencing. I proved this: with my new valve I could not blow air through it in the direction of flow with my mouth. With the old valve I could with no effort as it was no longer sealing.

I just ran into very similar problem. My brothers 02 viper would start when you put gas in the cylinders then stall right out. I pulled the fuel lines off the carburetors and pulled it over, nothing came out of the lines. Pulled fuel line off the tank that feeds the pump and it had oil in it, i blew though it and oil came out of the fuel lines to the carbs. Never saw this before. Think this is the same problem?? Ball valve in oil line?

perfect diagnosis. nice job!!
 
don't need to mix oil in the gas, just simply bleed the oilpump with the bleeder located right by the center cylinder on reed cage.
 
If you are only changing that check valve by the pump you can get away with some premix for the first start, if any other lines are taken off then you must bleed it. Either route will work. In this situation
