Interesting thread.
How much for all your parts and where did you order them from? For my own future reference. Always nice to have more options. Thanks.

Got all but the gaskets from 2wheelpros.com total of 341. Got the gaskets from miviper in the classifieds here for 100.
That was the cheapest place I could find oems ATM. My local dealer wanted 58 each for the head gaskets so I didn't even ask about anything else... Somehow my toys always end up costing me more than I plan for.

if you peel the gaskets wipe em down with something like laq. thinner and then dust em with copper kote spray sealer, let dry and then torq them down, be sure to retorq them after you heat cycle the topend a couple times and i don't have problems with leaks from them.

You guys recommend peeling 1 layer off for a total of 2 installed or peel 2? Peel base gasket at all?

A couple of bucks

Leave base alone. Peel 1 layer out of the 3 available. Reinstalling 2 layers.

So I'm putting this back together now, last night I got the engine back together but not torqued yet, just finger tight.
Now I'm seeing in the service Manuel it acts like there is a top and bottom to the rings? What kind of mark is there I didn't see one so I just put em in?

There should be a mark on the ring close to the end. The mark goes up. I think it might be a T but I can't remember for sure.

The rings will only install one way, as they won`t collapse enough to install the cylinders if the rings are upside down..................SRXtreme
