It was much better with the 8CH's except for tip (yes I need to add weight to the tip). So the combination of No groove, the lighter weights, and a worn out spring worked pretty good.

What'd you end up with for weight/washers.
Got a good set of 8DJs in one Phazer and it worked great. Proof that that groove was killer. Got some other 8CHs with bolts in them (heavier than heaviest rivet) and that worked almost as well. Woke both sleds up immensely. A reminder that lighter powered sleds can't overcome even seemingly small tuning options. They just don't have the power. I need to weigh the 8CHs to see where they are at.
