Would taking the foam inside my hood do anything? I know it's sounds like a stupid question just asking and really nothing you can do to reduce weight?
Hood itself weighs a tonne. Removing the foam wont do much

Plastic skis help to make it lighter if you don't already have them.
LOL
Well the fronts are quite heavy and having plastic skis won't make any difference when you're trying to lift the front. Few riders can lift these on the trails in snow etc (unless you're really into weight lifting). I find the back impossible to lift on my Venture especially when it stuck and the track is full of snow i can barely budge it. I have be stuck in one spot for 2-5hrs in one go many times. I have decided to sell this and get into something lighter. A single seat Air cooled 500-550 would likely be quite different but certainly not a full 2 up with an extended back chassis as well is too much tunnel to lift. I you can't lift the back you'll be in trouble and being stuck like that for so many hours myself I feel scared I am going to perish on the trail. Walking any distance suited up is really hard. Doing the lifting in the summer and walking is totally different in the snow dressed up.
All you can do is get a lighter machine IMO.
