need testing procedures for ignition, pick up and internal coils

If you need something now, just start testing and look for opens or shorts. It might give you an idea what might have failed.

For a 1985 Excel 3 340 motor (all i have) Charging coil Brown to Black (leads) 590 Ohms, Pick up coil White/Red to Black 15.1 Ohms, Light coil Yellow to Black 0.19 Ohms, Charging coil White to Black 0.22 Ohms. Hope that helps
