1984 Phazer rusty skis and seized bolts!....

I remember a Ram Charger that we could not break the aluminum rim loose from the drum. Lug nuts were off and we took a 12# sledge to it. Left the lug nuts off and went out in the pasture in 4wd doing donuts. Hitting all of the rock hard cow pies in the process. It still didn't let loose doing that. It took lots of heat & KROIL to eventually let go of it grip.
Ever since that day, whenever I mount a aluminum rim to an axle, it gets a generous slather of anti/never seize on the mating surface of the rim & drum.
I'd say if you want to keep it simple .... go w/ opsleds suggestion and install the bolts w/ Anti-Seize. I'd imagine it's the copper that's in that stuff that keeps it freed-up.

Just an update...I got the sled all back together and got it running.. After the install of the newly rebuilt carbs it started on the second pull...also got the air box out before and cleaned it all out, not to bad once I figured it out. The skis were serviced and greased and put back together....that was big fun as we talk about earlier...lol...just have to do a little work on the seat and I think it will be time to put her up for sale. It's not perfect but in really good shape for the year.
