Paid $4500 for my 02' in December. I'm in South Central PA which is worthless for snow. Saw a few others at the same time for $43-4400.
Although mine has 3700 miles on it, I was sold on the fact that it was already built to the hilt (full Bender tripples, exchanger, V Forces, TS3's, and on and on) and had a fresh dealer installed top end with 0 miles on it. Plus the sled was from Allentown area and was 100% groomed trail ridden and hauled strictly in an enclosed trailer. NEPA registration, NY etc. Guys like to talk sleds up, but this thing at 3700 miles looked like it had 137. No bull, honest to God. How anyone could keep a sled that sterile and ride it 3700 miles amazed me. Tech at the local dealer kept it for HIMSELF at trade in, did the top end to make it fresh and then never rode it. He needed money and I was lucky to snag it!
I would say if it is cherry start at $4500-4600 and stay flexible. The sucky winter that is quickly ending is going to work against you at this point, but you may still find the right buyer. Wish my wife was ready for one, I'd check yours out!
Also take a look at NADA and Kelly Blue Book values to help get a starting point. Viper is still one of the best trail sleds ever, and in my opinion they are unfortunately selling for less than their true value.
