Messed up the rear suspension on my 97 700 vmax...

So the other day I was being an idiot and testing out my new impact and taking a bolt off and putting it back on.

Well, I was doing it to the bolt on the side of the sled where your foot goes and bam it comes out and the suspension dropped, so I tried pushing the threaded hole to back where the bolt went in on the side of the sled and couldn't get it close enough to get the bolt in.

What's the best way to get this bolt back in and everything back up to speed? this was probably the dumbest thing I've done mechanically btw, I don't always pull off champ moves like this.

The suspensions under load when sitting. Tip it on its side and get a buddy to help. You may have to loosen the transfer rod bolts to help unload that center shock and help you line up holes. Second pair of hands easiest way!

Me and a buddy had it on the side and tried pushing it into place, we couldn't get it all the way. I'll try loosening up the transfer rod next time. Thanks buddy

Would a ratchet strap around track & tunnel work?

i usually use a ratchet strap beside the rear shock to compress the suspension.
