Is there a difference between 02 and 03 vipers

I just bought 2 Viper ER. 1 is a 2002 and the other one was advertised as a 2003 but the title says 2002. I'm just wondering if there is any differences between 2002 and 2003. The only thing I can see is the metal mesh on the 02 is black and the supposed 03 metal hood mesh is white. can you tell the year by the VIN #?
They are the ER Models so both are red

All I can tell you is in 2002 you could only get a Viper ER in red only.
I am not sure what colors were in the ER Models for 2003.

The 03 had the dimpled seat cover, 02 smooth. 03 came with better shock valving (still marginal). And I believe it also had the finger track vs the Yokohama.

I believe the 04 had the dimpled seats. 03 still smooth.

i never seen an 03 with the dimpled seat. Only 04's 03 part number http://www.partzilla.com/ 8EK-2470F-20-00 unless the parts catalog is wrong. 04 shows the dimples.

02 was hard and smooth, 03 Had the dimples (we have a red ER in our crew) and was a bit softer. The 04 had the pleats, no dimples and was the most comfortable as on the viper S.

04 has the raised pleats like on a viper s. The 03s had little dimples in the seat but otherwise the seat looked the same. The dimples are hard to see in a photo even unless it's up close. The 03s also had slightly different color shades in the hood decals.

The 03 has different colored graphics (Grey) and it says power valve on the left of the hood on the ER's

I have the same sled, i checked the vin win yamaha, they said its an 02 LOL, im so confused, and my hood decals are more silvery grey

I have a 2003 viper er and the seat is dimpled, 2002 is smooth. The medal mesh on mine was black when I got it, someone painted yours white. Big difference between a 2002 and 2003 is the hood graphics. The viper on the left is mine 2003 when I first bought it. On the right is a 2002 viper. They have completely different colors related to the graphics. Sx Viper on a 2003 is white and black when the 2002 is black and red. Look at the titles, should tell you what year both sleds are also.
