I just acquired a engine 700 ported with race logic cylinder templates along with ported case for srx reeds. My sled has a 136" track geared down to 39/21. I'm looking for input on clutching and jetting. Thinking around 150 mains with needles in stock position with shims and #3. I have 8dn-10 weights thinking 5.5 grams in both holes with www spring. Green spring at 60-70 rx-1 51/43 helix in secondary. Sled is a 2001 and I ride mainly trails and forest roads in northern michigan. Please critique my proposed setup!! I'm excited to try this engine. Btw running stock pipe too..

Btw, carbs and everything else in clutches is currently stock 2001 stuff

I'd think go up 3 or so sizes on main jets and pull your needles up half would be good starting point

heres what I used in my super single ported sxr engine with stock pipe. I run them at 8500rpm. I used 8dn20 with 4.5 in each hole, a yellow/white/yellow primary spring, 15mm rollers, 54/43 helix with green sec spring at 60-70.

Looking at your set up it will likely work but may be a tad low on rpm due to you using the w/w/w primary, you may need to just lighten up the rivets to 3.6 each and try it. That rx1 helix will shift close to like a 48/42

Do you think the rx 1 helix can work good with my setup? Aren't 8dn 10 weights just a lighter version of what you run usually?

reason I said it might be lower is because the w/w/w is a 45/119kg spring and the yellow/white/yellow is a 45/128kg so youll automaticly drop the rpm down some due to softer shift, and it will shift a bit sooner lugging the engine down more(loading it), which is not always bad. Try it and adjust and see how it runs, you might like it!

your welcome, report back on what it does and watch the tach, we can then make the right adjustments to get it dialed in, usually not very hard to do!

Well my sled seriously rips with this new ported engine! Very responsive and fun to ride.im over revving a bit 8700-8800 rpms I'd say. I like the low engagement with the www spring and the way it feels! Need to figure how much weight to add, currently running 8dn 10's with 3.6 gram rivets

47.5 pilots, 1.5 turns out on screws, needles on 2.5 with 147.5 mains and it seems safe so far. Takes time for the plugs to get color.

I have my stock weights with 5.5 grams in each hole 8df. I may try them cause their about 2 grams heavier than 8dn 10 weights currently are. Btw I'm running 14.5 mm rollers
