Been chasing the problem for a week. Sled is completely bone stock. Done everything imaginable. Clutches, cleaned carbs, cleaned power valves, no pull throughs, properly adjusted power valves, pulled harness and checked for chaffing. New proper plugs, fresh fuel.

Works great low end, but won't pull the revs.

Sounded like clutching, but:

Fired it up with no air box and tried it and works like a champ!, pulls 8500 rpm no problem. Super strong.

Mains are 148.8 147.5 147.5 (148.8 is mag side)

42.5 pilots

Obviously now I'm thinking too rich but not sure. I'm at sea level. Thought maybe the air box is pinching off a fuel line but I don't think so.

Any thoughts?

Put the airbox back on and back to same thing, pulls 7500 tops and bogs. Air box had the shelf, no mods

Tors system bypassed now also

Guessing you had the air box apart and there is no mouse nest in it restricting flow? What's the foam on top of the air box look like?

I would richen up your pilots. They seem lean to me. With this said, I have vipers so I could be wrong irt an srx. Just seems odd how I run a 52.5 at 6K to 8k.

Definitely try what A Couple of Bucks said. Try the choke when you think she's falling flat.

Brand new belt

Air box fully dismantled, cleaned, and put back together. (foam too)

Only tried no airbox because I was chasing potentially chaffed wires.

I even tried a spare set of carbs I had with same jetting, same issues. (Carbs came off a good working sled)

Sled pulls like a freight train with no airbox

Tried running with choke, makes it worse

Remove airbox inner shelf?

try to add a series of holes to your air box shelf. thats crazy, that problem usually works the other way. 3:16x (yammie tony)

So I took out the inner shelf and moved the foam to the very top (instead of under the cage) and it seems to work pretty good now

If the foam was underneath that was most likely the problem. It is supposed to be on top. I tried putting foam over the inlet on a different air box once and it choked it out pretty good. Glad you got it figured out. In my opinion I would put the shelf back in.

Was the way I got the sled, never knew, think I will reject down a size and put the shelf back in the air box.

Does the richer jet go in the pto or mag side of a 2000?

OK WOW WOW WOW! HOLD UP HERE A SECOND! LMFAO.
I have an issue too here very similar! Sled will pull 8300 ish and after shift no jam at all. Bogging! You mean to tell me that the stupid foam may be the problem? My issue is well documented on this forum. Re clutched the sled cause it was outta wack. Still problems this year.
Here is some pictures:

If this is my issue I will freak out lol!
My air box foam deteriorated when I took the box apart last November to clean it out. Got new foam and installed it the same way I removed it and never thought anything of it lol

Lol That will definitely choke it out. I know the feeling. I had a vmax I put a piece of foam on top the air box since the foam in the hood was gone. Took it on a trip like that and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't rev over about 5000 rpm. We tried everything and never even thought about the foam. Rode it all weekend and didn't figure out it was the stupid foam I put on it till I got home.

Yeah dude the sled will straight bog from a hole shot standing still. If I hit it from a 40-50 Km/h roll it hits 8300ish and then shifts after a second or two, then Boooooogggggggggg! Won't accelerate rpms after shift.
You can actually hear the bog even. That gurgling sound. Anyways I can't wait for the weekend to see if my issue is gone. Got a tent in my pants waiting lol
