01 SRX 700. all stock. replaced belt with new Yamaha superceded Part number. now I have a squeal/slipping sound off idle under load. Old one never made noise ever. just figured it was time for a new one. should I be looking at adjustments? since its not the same exact part number? thanks in advance.

Behinde your secondary clutch you have three 8mm bolts with washers. Removing the washers opens the secondary enough to slack the belts a bit. It ends all those simptoms. Only thing to keep in mind is the bolts tips do wear after 15+ years so replacing them with fresh ones may help with adjustability.

the superseed belt is 8dn-01. need to reset belt deflection. follow above instructions. 3:16xl
