03 yamah viper 700 oil cable adj

Hello new to the forum. Was working on my viper today and decided to check the gap for the oil pump. Never touched it before. It measured about 15 mm. I've had no problems with the sled. I was wondering what it was set to from the factory many years ago. No mods second owner. 2850 on the clock. Thank you

Are you measuring gap with cable fully extended? Seems like 15 would be hard to achieve, not enough adjustment. And you would use a ton of oil at 15mm spec.

All I have to do it pull the cable up from the boot rite? I'll check it again but I don't have much smoke when she's warmed up. It's never been adj don't want to mess it up.

Yes, pull that cable as far as it will go. Then measure gap "A".
