So, my buddy bought a 2000 SXR 500 yesterday, and it turns out is used to be a race sled.
Bottom end is destroyed, but, upon further inspection, found that it has the stock bottom end, with jugs from a 1994 600 that have been bored and ported.
Stock Piston size for a 500 is 68mm, this one is 79.28mm. The guy was running a (1997 and up) 500 head, that had been relieved for the larger piston as well.
We are trying to figure out what application this piston would have been from.
The motor would end up about 670cc, but I have never heard of a 670 big bore before anywhere.
