I tried searching but couldn't find my answer. How do you remove the carbs from a 96 Vmax 600, specifically the choke cables? First time tearing into it myself. Also, is there a source for new carb boots? Mine is cracked and I am not having any luck finding new ones.

Nope, all dealers around here say they are unavailable. I did get the choke cables off, they were just full of enough gunk I couldn't see the nut.

Are you talking the the boots from the airbox to the carb? I might have some used ones that are in good shape. If I can find them you can have them.

Do not get aftermarket. They will dry rot in or around 2 years. Used OEM ONLY.

Found a set on Ebay pretty cheap. Any one know if I need as special Fuel Filter for my 96 Vmax 600? Going thru the sled and found the inline filter kind of under the airbox. Do I need a direct replacement, or will a parts store inline filter work? Thanks in advance!

There should be a filter inside the tank.
