i love the 06s, i'm getting one. just haven't decided on the apex gt or rtx. i'll know tomorrow when i go to the albany show and see them.

aesthetically the 06's are great, seats may be a little chunky but the Nytro is moving in my direction. From the sound of Wade's review it will bang with the best of them. Horsepower misses the mark for me though. I want to be able to catch some air then pull on to the lake and run with a couple certain other sleds (read Rev 800 and F7). Never had anything but Yammy so I'll wait patiently for the muscled up version/Nytro II. Maybe 07 or 08?. Dave

I may not get one this year, but when I do it's gonna be hard to choose between the Nytro and the Apex but I'll prob get an Apex ER because of more ponies. I wanna outrun people on the ice like SRXDave.

Apex for me. Snow conditions are so poor in Minnesota lately it's hard to justify the ching$$$. I suppose an 1 1/4 track and some pipes might keep me happy for a while.

I think Yamaha hit the mark. I'm not sure I'll be a buying an 06, but I like the direction they are going. EFI, conservative rider forward, 4 stroke, improved suspensions and ride. I don't need 150hp so I'll probably wait for the EFI on the 3 cyl motor.

I think they are pretty close to what i like. would like a touch more hp for the quicker 600-800ft. also very high $$, wife says no! I say Allimony. may have to wait a yr

I think the 06's are good! A bit pricey but good! I'm not in the market for a new sled just yet! Only have 2600+ miles on the Viper!
WIVIPERMAN

I think the new lineup will be well received once we get a chance to go over them in person. I gave them my vote of confidence although like WIVIPERMAN, I will not be giving up my Viper anytime soon. I've only owned it a few months and plan on enjoying it for a few seasons. Even when I go 4 Stroke I will probably still keep what I consider to be the last of the great 3 cylinders 2 strokes.

The weight and price issue are getting old from my veiwpoint. Things just aren't getting any cheaper! Inflation sucks and that is life. The dollar/yen gap is killing the imports as well. Given the sheer amount of technology going into these sleds, Yamaha really is giving you a lot for your money. Have you guys priced the import sportbikes or any of the new high performance 4 stroke ATVs lately? Toys just aren't as cheap as they used to be, but neither is the technology going into them. As for the weight? I think we will only have grounds to complain about the weight WHEN WE ACTUALLY HAVE 4 STROKES FROM THE OTHER MANUFACTURERS TO COMPARE TO! I don't mean to yell or stir anything up, but the basic design difference between 2's and 4's give the 2 stroke engine a weight advantage. When the big 4 all have thumpers to compare, THEN we can honestly argue about weight. By then I am confident that Yamaha will be laughing at the other three.

All and all Yamaha is on track and looks to be more serious about sleds than they have been in the last few years. At least more serious about a broader offering and targeting the market. While there are still gaps in the lineup (youth model really comes to mind) it appears that there is new focus on what the market wants as opposed to "just building 4 strokes because they are the future". I think we know that, now just give us a BROAD lineup of the sweetest 4 strokes available. Oh, wait, that's what they just did! ;)!

Come on Yamaha, help us out here!

I love the new sleds but I think we need some seat and windshield options. I'm just not convinced that I will like the taller seats and lower windshields if I am going for a 3 day - 500 mile ride. Why can't we order an 05 style seat and taller windshield as a spring order option on the Apex, Attak or Nytro. I've ridden an 05 Vector and IMO the seats are great for trail riding. The sleds cost enough as it is - so I don't want to order seats and windshields as accessory items!

so far it seems most like the 4 strokes, you know guys you can choose multiple choices here, not just one choice....

I think the new '06's look great. I'm in the same boat as many in Minnesota. We don't get enough snow anymore. My 2002 Viper is mint with 2600 miles and runs very good. I've added the 2004 seat. Oh what a difference. Road in the UP on this past Monday. I also have a 1.25" track and saddless 2004 Yammie skis and it corner on rails. I had a chance to ride a 2005 RX-1 monoshock, 2005 Warrior and a 2005 Vector. All are nice sleds, but I just can't justify the $$$ considering how little I get to ride.

For me, I'll be looking for a left over vector next fall. 06s look great but that extra seat height sure won't help cornering speeds. Can't wait to see what Snowtech says about them. Someone should rig one of those portable g-meters to their sled and run all brands together on an oval, vary the time of day, temps and running order for fairness. As J.V. said, "speed on the straight is boring, speed around a corner is a rush."
