I worked for a dealer for a few months and to tell you the truth, dealers work on a volume basis. We were giving the stuff away! I worked there in 2002 and we were selling the 01's and other leftover models for 200-500 under dealer invoice...just to get rid of them. I sold 18 sleds while I was there and made a whopping 1500 bucks...what da??? Yeh, I know...that's why I left. Really guys...the big dealers just want to get rid of them...on avg. we made 75-150 dollars per sled....SERIOUSLY! If you can buy a new sled for 1000-1200 under MSRP your getting a good deal, cus that is rock bottom. Less then that they are losing money. The truth is they make their money in the "set-up" charge, usually 100-400 bucks, but that goes in the sales guys pocket. So if you want to do right, haggle em down to rock bottom, let them have a a couple hundo in set up and both of you are happy. Just so you know....IF YOU DO THE POWER SURGE....USE THE 800.00 YAMAHA BUCKS TOWARDS THE PURCHASE. Buy your equipment at the Pre season snow shows, you'll save a ton. Hope this helps...
P.S. the dealer I worked at is one of the largest in the country and have been in business for 35 plus years...so, no, they weren't going out of business when selling the stuff so cheap...lol
