I've started my first rebuild project on a '98 SRX 700. The odometer reads 2168 miles but it seems to have been abused so I'm not sure I trust that number. I've taken the top end apart - what are these pistons and cylinders telling me exactly? Are they still good to use? The sled started and ran ok before I tore into it though I didn't check compression. When I drained the coolant it seemed to have some soot in it, as well. Also, do the cylinder studs normally get very rusty? The cylinders were all absolutely terrible to get off.
