I have a friend that is a casual rider I have messed with his clutches in the past, he says it is still going to 8700 on the warmer days and 9000 on a cold day. I have not rode it the sled but rode side by side, it pulls with my viper down low (i have a big full paddle track) so not sure how its shifting out.
His current setup, 8df00, 4.5 inner, 3.6 outer, total 46 grams, ygy primary. Rx1 helix green wrapped at 70, 40 tooth bottom gear. My thoughts change tip to a 4.5.
He has the predator track and trail rides. He also has stock jetting, never did jet down.
I also have other weights 8ek00, 8dn00, 8ab01. I was think of trying them but we have zero snow and what he has is pretty good.

My 700 had the exact same over Rev numbers as him when I first baught my Venture. It took 4.5g rivets with two 6mm washers on each weight tip to settle down my WOT rpms.
 
My brother was having about the same issue with his 700 with similar clutching and we put a w-s-w primary spring in it and it brought it down a couple hundred rpm.
 
is That Rx1 helix a 8FA00 "51/43"? when i was clutching my sled i was told the yamaha made helix isn't a true 51/43 and is a bit light. A bender or Dalton are a true 51/43 and show the more aggressive angle. if it helps my 01 sxr is stock weights with 3.6g tip and 4.5g heal. stock springs w/ dalton 51/43 helix @60 deg. 21/39 gearing and turns 8350, 8450 on cold cold days. 3/8 of an inch short of full shift out on the primary.

It is the yamaha soft angles, but my buddy is not into spending.
