For the stock clutch on a 1974 GPX. Does the cam have anything to do with engagement or just shifting pattern? Also, is the coil wire removeable at the coil? I know I can replace plug cap but, wire looks rough and needs replacing. Left cylinder cuts out once in a while (when hot) Hoping it's the wire and not coil or CDI.

the weight of the cam make a difference in engagement yes the wires for the coil are none replaceable but i have see guys replace them but i would not just buy a new coil .... but most likely you have a cdi or trigger problem ..... when it is missing light tug on the cdi wires and see it if comes back too

i believe the style of slide is the same yes just have to cut them to fit
