Extra Idler Wheels

Hey guys, i found my slide's were wearing bad in two places on my mountain max so I installed two sets of those small idler wheels, I know it will help in the wear of my new slides but will it affect performance on the drag strip? some say less wheels are better some don't? also what benefit's are the larger 8" rear wheels? will it make my sled faster, perform better?

I would say it is safe to say that if you run her in snow you wont have any issues with either set up. Performance...no.

I believe the deal about less wheels being better is just a weight thing.
You know-less weight = free horsepower.
From what I've read about the 8" rear wheels they are claiming about
2 or 3 more horsepower to the track. With them the track doesn't have
to make such a tight of turn as compared to the 7" wheels, so it rotates
easier and frees up some power.
At least that's how I got it.

I agree with blue4me. What you have done is taken some sliding friction and changed it to rolling friction. It is easier to roll a car than it is to push a car. Also a car with 16" tires is easier to roll than a car with 15" tires. It all adds up to more horsepower to the track.
