Weak stator cause a mid range miss?

My sx 700r has a slight miss around 6-7000 rpms thats very annoying. It runs smooth at idle and off idle and will work through the miss and ok up top. I've checked and changed a bunch of stuff and its still there. I even pulled the relay that kills everything besides the engine and it was still there. Any suggestions would be appreciated

is this the 300w ignition system? (dual headlight) id check plug cap resistance and the PU coil. make sure theres no rust on the outter flywheel magnets. have had that cause some funny issues.
 
Yes, it is the 300 watt system. I've already changed the plug caps and no change. I need to check that stuff you've mentioned

Im gonna check my primary clutch as I've got washers under my rivets for more weight, wanna make sure theres no blinding going on in there
