Seen the 06's (Pics Added 56K warning)

Went and seen the 06 sleds all of them can be described in one word

AWESOME!
The seats on the new ones are awesome, how the hoods come off and the side panels awesome but i do see a concern with those about theft of them (since they can removed in 2 seconds) The style of the sleds is excellent.
They had the Apex Gt with the key in it i got on it and turned the key the dash illuminated it was awesome too, then i ventured to turn it some more and it started to crank over should have fired it up hehe. Another thing the keys they are like fold up keys how they are like a key chain and the key folds up into it pretty neat. I think these sleds will own the snow.

Seen GrapeApe up there from what he says sounds like hes gonna pick up one of them sweet new Apex Mtn.
Again Great Job YAMI!! :yam:

Yeh I read in Snow tech they were going to eventually go to the Porsche style keys...that's classy...and you can use it like a switch-blade, to fight off them cats...lol

The more I read..the more impressed I am!! Little things like keys make the difference...for real..it just shows that someone is THINKING about everything.

I thought I saw some little punk kids around there... I wasn't really impressed with the nytro. I'd rather buy a rage. But I loved the apex mountain.. But man, did that place seem to be packed with waterheads. I had to leave. Luckily I only live 5 minutes away.

I got one picture before my camera took a poop.

What lil kids kixx? All in all i was reall happy with what yamaha has come out with. I just cant wate till i get to try one out on the snow. rich you need to get them pics up quick fast and in a hurry!

Topgunn Did You Pick Up The Front Of The Sled To See How It Felt Weight Wise And Also The Rear Of The Sled,i Did This This Yr To A 05 Rage Felt Very Heavy, but That Doesnt Mean Much It Is How The Sled Is Set -up Good News To Here Though.

TopGunn, were you in Ypsilanti? I was there also and all i can say is this is the best showing ive ever seen, actually its the only showing ive ever seen. I love the look of that Nytro and the Apex RTX.

Yep thats where we were. In the Y-tizzle fo shizzle. :WayCool:

I was to the Ypsi show last night as well, I was impressed that there were some actually Yamaha reps instead of dealer reps there to answer questions. Most still didn't have the tech info I asked, but they were able to find someone else on the floor that could help out.
Personally I really like the Attak, can't wait for the chance to ride one, but I guess I will have to wait for the '06 demo rides for that to happen.

The seats were all a little on the soft side for me so the sit-in was a little excessive, it would be nice to be able to get the higher/harder seat of the Nytro on the Attak or Rage.

The rider position "option" is what I think I will enjoy, not locked in like a Rev, but still easy to stand if you want.

Glad the reps didn't blow me off when it hit 9pm, I wouldn't have been there as long if I would have interrupted the moron who just wanted to ask things like, "what happens when the battery dies on you out on the trail" and "why don't they install a recoil," but hey it was good for a laugh.

Yes I did lift the front end on the attak and the rear on them all i could pick them up with ease, and i am no where near a big person lol Ym also lifted them up with ease. I dont think they are heavy at all. Ill get the pics up in a few minutes! Oh and yes it was in Ypsi as Ryan said

So what do you do when the battery dies on the trail. Just so were clear it's not a matter of if but when because as we all know batteries deteriorate with use and will expire at some point so I must say I'm curious to hear what his response was. I often get free time during the day from my job and ride right from my door alone so the chance is very real it could happen to me. If it did happen when I was alone and miles from help I can't see myself laughing out loud. Is the storage compartment on the 06s big enough for a set of booster cables? Maybe all 4 strokes should come with a free block heater, battery blanket, AAA membership and one of those PLEASE SEND HELP signs to make it easier for the guys in the seach and rescue helicopter. If we drove our cars miles and miles away from civilization how many would be willing to leave the spare tire at home? Yamaha marketing must have over-looked that in their 4 stroke feature-benefit analysis.

What do you do if your battery dies in your car going down the road? Batteries dont normally fail without any forwarned conditions. Yes you see it from time to time, but the % is so low its not even a factor. As for your comments on the block/battery heaters, this is not even a problem. This sleds have been startign in -30* conditions since 03 with very few problems and now with EFI that is going to be even less. ===SRXSRULE===

When my car won't start I call CAA and have it boosted or towed to a shop and repaired while I relax and have a cup of coffee, not an option in the bush were people occasionally die from exposure, but you're right, really not often enough to concern ourselves with. The dead guy should have noticed his battery wasn't in as good of condition as he assumed......Still want to hear what the rep. said.

I guess it's no different if you pull of the trail and you pull for ever and it won't start (been there before) . Unfortunately crap happens no matter a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke. It's still a machine and all machines can let you down at some time. The dead guy wasn't prepared for the worst conditions, who's fault is that? ;)

pull start....lmfao

ya really think you could pull over a 4 cylinder 4 stroke engine? ever kickstart a goldwing?? didnt think so...... :ORC

I was comparing the 2 stroke pull to a 4 stroke battery. If it breaks it breaks. Doesn't matter what you ride. ;)
